The Place

Landmark Lanes is a bowling alley featuring an arcade and full bar located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. It’s located in a vibrant neighborhood and is the city’s oldest bowling alley, with its doors opening in 1927.

The Challenge

Being an entertainment complex, Landmark Lanes featured many games and events that have the potential of keeping customers in its business for long amounts of time.

However there was a problem. Customers were getting hungry, and frequently asked staff why there were no food options available.

Our regular customers were asking about food options,” said the owner of Landmark Lanes. “As well as new customers who had never visited before asking if we served food.”

The business lacked a kitchen, and the owners knew the finances behind building a new commercial kitchen wouldn’t be profitable. They explored options such as pizza delivery, but desired a more memorable food experience.

“We wanted to be able to provide better food options for our guests. This would mean customers could stay longer and not have to leave for food when they get hungry.”

The Solution

After an initial call discussing its food problems, Landmark Lane’s shared its vision for the type of food experience it wanted for its customers.

2ndKitchen was able to pair the bowling alley with a mexican restaurant located just a few blocks away – BelAir Cantina.

The partnership allowed Landmark Lanes to craft a unique menu of items from BelAir Cantina including tacos, burritos, nachos, and more.

2ndKitchen worked with Landmark Lanes to design a food menu that created the feel of a restaurant – as well as supplied the bowling alley with marketing assets to promote its new food menu.

The Result

The pairing allows Landmark Lanes to complement its entertainment complex with a complete restaurant experience without an expensive kitchen – leading to customers staying longer and spending more.

Customers are able to order food directly to their table, right from their smartphones – making it an easy and intuitive process.

“The 2ndKitchen interface and ordering process is very simple and easy to use for our customers. It gives us the convenience of being able to focus fully on customer service and not have to worry about placing and filling orders.”

As Landmark Lanes attracts more customers with its food menu – and keeps them in the bowling alley longer – it is already exploring how to expand its 2ndKitchen partnership.

“We see a lot of improvement in the future with our customer satisfaction knowing 2K’s customer support is readily available,” said Landmark Lanes ownership, adding “multiple restaurants is also something we’re interested in, as we are a very eclectic establishment and love the idea of our customers having a few more options.”
