The Place

Coachella Valley Brewing Co. is a locally-owned craft brewery in Thousand Palms, CA. It’s one of the only breweries in the South California desert region and uses this backdrop as inspiration for its farm-to-table style brewing. Its taproom property includes a large taproom with inside seating, as well as a beer garden located on a back patio.

The Challenge

With a world-class selection of craft beers and a large property featuring indoor and outdoor seating, Coachella Valley Brewing was setting itself apart from other taprooms in the area. However, there was still one major problem the taproom needed to solve – its food service.

It lacked an onsite kitchen, and the lack of dedicated food service was causing customers to leave pre-maturely for other businesses with a food menu. To compete with the best businesses in its area, the taproom owners knew they needed to find a creative food solution.

The Solution

After an introduction to 2ndKitchen, Coachella Valley was able to utilize the software and service to offer dedicated food service in its taproom, powered by the popular nearby restaurant Goody’s Cafe. Customers could now scan QR-code menus at their table and order from a branded food menu, powered by the nearby restaurant. 2ndKitchen managed payments, order management, fulfillment, delivery, and all customer issues – all completely free of charge for Coachella Valley Brewing.

The Result

At no cost to the brewery, it could now keep customers in its taproom longer – drinking more beer and spending more money. It also allowed the taproom to target private and corporate events with its complete pairing of local food and artisan craft beer.

In a post-COVID world, the taproom was also able to leverage 2ndKitchen’s contactless ordering to offer a safe and practical ordering experience featuring branded QR-code menus and a mobile ordering system for customers to order via their phone – all designed by 2ndKitchen with Coachella Valley Brewing’s design concepts in mind.
